Dragon Ball Daima: Reveals a New Exciting Teaser

Toei Animation unveiled a new promotional video for the anime "Dragon Ball Daima" during the special event "Dragon Ball Games Battle Hour." The video places the spotlight on the character Son Goku and once again affirms that the series is set to premiere in the Fall 2024 season (October-December) in Japan.

The Dragon Ball phenomenon commenced in 1984 when Akira Toriyama's renowned Japanese manga debuted in Shueisha's Weekly Shonen Jump magazine, quickly rising to prominence during its decade-and-a-half publication. Subsequently, the manga's popularity has not only endured but flourished, achieving an impressive milestone of 260 million copies sold worldwide and counting.

As Dragon Ball's popularity has surged, it has transcended the boundaries of the manga, venturing into television animation, films, games, and merchandise. Now, 39 years after the original manga's debut, Dragon Ball persists in its evolution, continually reaching new heights.

Production Team

• Yoshitaka Yashima (Digimon Adventure, ONE PIECE FILM: STRONG WORLD, Digimon Tamers) and Aya Komaki (ONE PIECE, Marie & Gali, Gegege no Kitarou (2007)) lead the anime direction at Toei Animation studios.
• Yuuko Kakihara (Orange, Hataraku Saibou, Asobi Asobase, Mairimashita! Iruma-kun) takes charge of scriptwriting and script supervision.
• Katsuyoshi Nakatsuru (Dragon Ball Z, Digimon Adventure, Dragon Ball GT, Rakuen Tsuihou: Expelled From Paradise) manages character design and animation direction.

Greetings, I am Akira Toriyama. I am currently immersed in the creation of a new Dragon Ball installment titled "Dragon Ball DAIMA." "DAIMA" is a compound term, translating to "evil" in Japanese. The narrative unfolds as a result of a conspiracy that transforms Son Goku and his companions into children. To rectify this situation, they embark on a journey to a new world, promising a grand adventure filled with intense action set in an unfamiliar and mysterious realm.

Given Son Goku's diminished size, he reverts to employing the "Power Pole" in combat, a technique not witnessed for quite some time. I've conceptualized the story, scenarios, and numerous designs, pouring more effort than usual into this project. Anticipate revelations that will unravel the mysteries of the Dragon Ball universe. I trust you'll relish these distinct, adorable, and powerful battles!
